1.Amitabh
- Dressed to kill
Sanjay Gupta's Kaante bash was held at the Regent recently. Leadstars
Sunil Shetty, Aditya Panshcholi, Kumar Gaurav, Lucky Ali and Mahesh
Manjrekar made their presence felt at the function. The surprise
of the evening was Amitabh and son Abhishek Bachchan. Looked like
they had switched identities when it came to their designer wears.
Abhishek was clad in a dark suit while father dear father was
dressed in leather
yes, designer leather jacket and leather
pants. He was the cynosure of all eyes and even Abhishek paled
in comparison!

Karisma Kapoor gives Amisha Patel a hard time!
Every Tom, Dick and Harry in tinsel town is aware that there is absolutely
no love lost between the temperamental Kareena Kapoor and the haughty
Amisha Patel. Neither girl ever misses an opportunity to take potshots
at the other.
Nothing unusual about that - it's star rivalry. But must Karisma
Kapoor insist on jumping into the fray on behalf of her li'l sis
and give the Gadar babe a tough time?
That is exactly the course of action that Lolo has embarked upon
on the sets of Suneel Darshan's Mere Jeevan Sathi, which pits Karisma
against Amisha, with khiladi Akshay Kumar holding the balance. The
cold vibes between the two actresses were obvious on the day the
film was launched with a party: Karisma kept Amisha at an arm's
length and also managed to ensure that Akki did much the same.Knowing
how close Akshay is to Lolo, wonder how the cold-shouldered Amisha
will survive the ordeal of being the target of a "gang war"
during the film's shooting schedules.

Shah Rukh: The role that never was!
In
an industry where one star is signed up to play a role that another
ends up playing so often, was Shah Rukh Khan even approached by
Anil Sharma to act in a forthcoming multi-starrer? Some within the
industry were saying that Khan had been signed up for a role in
a Sharma movie that is also supposed to star Amitabh Bachchan (isn't
he there in far too many films these days?) and Akshay Kumar (whose
quest for doing a variety of roles has made him an improved actor
of late).
Speaking
of Khan, what we hear is something completely different. The actor
is supposed to have spoken to his friends and expressed his surprise
at the news that Sharma had cast him in a forthcoming venture.
The actor has said that he wasn't even approached, so the question
of signing the film or even considering the role did not arise.
The
assertion gives rise to many possibilities. First, Anil Sharma
might have approached Shah Rukh but, after assessing the star's
present-day popularity, backed out at the last minute. After all,
Sharma after the success of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha faces really
tough challenges, which is why he might have opted for a more
viable option (say, Sunny). Second, it is possible that Shah Rukh
said yes first, no next, and has been diplomatic enough to state
that Sharma did not approach him at all. But why we think such
feelings are baseless is since Shah Rukh is notorious for talking
straight, even if that means that he ends up making his neighbours
unhappy.
We
would like to believe the guy as he waits for the inevitable khushi
after the gham of Asoka: that of his next film directed by Karan
Johar that has been declared a hit by the trade pundits already.

by Satish Kaushik. Besides this project, the father-son duo have
been cast in Mahesh Manjrekar's desi version of GODFATHER, titled
